Our Doctors

Khanh V. Dao, O.D.

Dr. Khanh V. Dao is the founder of SFO Family Eye Care, located inside the South San Francisco Costco. Since its establishment in 2005, Dr. Dao has accumulated many years of clinical experience in the field of optometry. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Genetics from UC Davis before going on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. During his pre-Doctorate rotations, Dr. Dao gained valuable experience at various locations, including the U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka in Japan, the HuHuKam Memorial Hospital for the Gila River Indian Community in Arizona, and the Native American Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma.

In 2023, Dr. Dao added his second location (El Camino Real) and unified the two South San Francisco COSTCO Optometry locations together to run seamlessly as one entity. In May of 2024, he opened the third location at the brand new Optometry inside the Foster City COSTCO.

Dr. Dao is dedicated to providing high-quality eye care to the local community. He conducts more than 3,000 eye exams each year, serving patients ranging from 4 to 90 years old. In his career, he has performed over 50,000 eye exams in the past 18 years. Dr. Dao is passionate about using state-of-the-art technology to ensure the best care for his patients while maintaining affordable service options.

In his spare time, Dr. Dao enjoys snowboarding, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He is an enthusiastic sports fan, rooting for the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers, and San Francisco Giants.

Dr. Dao can conduct eye exams in Spanish and Vietnamese.

Teresa Wu, O.D.

Dr. Teresa Wu earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Biology with a minor in Education from UC Berkeley. She continued her studies at UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. During her academic career, Dr. Wu was honored with the Clinical Honors Award and the Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care, recognizing her outstanding skills in these areas.
 
Dr. Wu specializes in primary care optometry, pediatric eye care, ocular disease management, and specialty contact lens fitting. Since 2017, she has been providing exceptional patient care at SFO Family EyeCare, earning a reputation for her dedication and expertise.
 
In her free time, Dr. Wu enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, especially while traveling the world!

Kenneth Chiu, O.D.

Dr. Kenneth Chiu earned his Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of California, Davis, before obtaining his Doctorate from Pacific University School of Optometry. He is the original founder of the optometry practice located inside the El Camino Costco, where he has cultivated a dedicated patient base over the years. With his extensive experience in patient care, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team, and we are privileged to have him with us.
 
In his spare time, Dr. Chiu enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two sons. He is fluent in both English and Cantonese and can also conduct eye exams in Spanish.
 
Availability:  Every Monday, Wednesday, and 1st & 3rd Saturday at El Camino location. Every Thursday for Airport Blvd location (except last Thursday)

Ellen Ong, O.D.

Dr. Ellen Ong is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, where she was born and raised.

She joined SFO Family Eyecare in April 2021. Dr. Ong holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science with a focus on Physiology & Metabolism, as well as a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Inspired by her childhood encounters with special needs students, she decided to further complete a residency in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Since then, she has worked alongside pediatric ophthalmologists, Kim Cooper MD and Elena Nguyen MD, where she had extensive training in diagnosing and managing visual disorders such as amblyopia and strabismus particularly in infants, toddlers and adolescents. Her expertise plays a crucial role in Myopia Control treatments such as specialty contacts and Atropine therapy.

Dr. Ong is passionate about providing early intervention vision care to children to ensure their learning potential and enjoys volunteering at screening events such as the Special Olympics.  She is an active member and Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and has both therapeutic and glaucoma certifications. Dr. Ong enjoys working with patients of all ages, and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.

During her free time, she enjoys learning to cook new cuisines, taking hikes through nature, and exploring new food and coffee spots throughout the Bay Area.  She looks forward to meeting you and caring for your eye health needs!

Availability:  Wednesday and occasional Saturdays at Foster City.  Every other Saturday at Airport Blvd location

Linh Nguyen, O.D.

Dr. Linh Nguyen attended UCLA and earned her Bachelor of Science in PsychoBiology in 2015. She then received her Doctor of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, where she graduated at the top of her class with honors.

Dr. Nguyen then focused her post-graduate training in Primary Care and Low Vision Residency Program at the VA in Long Beach. She is Board Certified by the State of California to diagnose, manage, and treat diseases of the eye, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.

Availability:  Every Sunday at Airport Blvd. location

Jacqueline Mai, O.D.

Dr. Jacqueline Mai completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology with a minor in Neuroscience. She later pursued her Doctor of Optometry degree at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry. Dr. Mai is certified to perform comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages and has expertise in managing and treating ocular diseases. Additionally, she is very skilled in fitting specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Mai can communicate effectively with a diverse range of patients.  She is multilingual, speaking fluent English and Vietnamese, and can conduct exams in Spanish. During her free time, she enjoys travelling, baking, and rooting for the 49ers!

Available:  Every Monday & Friday at El Camino location. Every Thursday at Airport Blvd. location. Occasional Saturdays at all locations

Michael Chin, O.D.

Dr. Michael Chin brings My Eyexam Pro Optometry inside COSTCO a wealth of experience and knowledge! He completed both his undergraduate studies and Doctorate of Optometry at UC Berkeley. Dr. Chin provides general optometric care, including: contact lens fitting, laser refractive surgery consultation, treatment of certain ocular diseases,and treatment of computer related vision problems.

Outside of his professional work, Dr. Chin enjoys many different outdoor adventures and is dedicated to helping patients with their eye care needs.

Availability:  Every other Saturday at Airport Blvd. location

Vinoja Kamaleswaran, O.D.

Dr. Vinoja Kamaleswaran attended the University of Toronto, where she earned an Honours Bachelor of Science. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science. Dr. Kamaleswaran is Board Certified by the State of California to diagnose, manage, and treat diseases of the eye, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.  
 
Recently, Dr. Kamaleswaran relocated to the Bay Area and joined Exam Pro Optometry. We feel fortunate to have her on our team, as she is truly exceptional! In her free time, she enjoys the vibrant San Francisco city life and exploring the world through travel.

Tony TsungMing Hung, O.D.

Dr. TsungMing (Tony) Hung earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science from Rutgers University. He continued his studies at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science (MCPHS), where he received his Doctor of Optometry in 2016. During his time at MCPHS, Dr. Hung distinguished himself by earning the “Clinical Excellence in Binocular Vision and Vision Therapy” award for his outstanding work in the field.
 
After graduation, Dr. Hung completed a one-year residency program focusing on Pediatrics and Vision Therapy. He has since become one of our leading pediatric specialists, playing a key role in establishing our Myopia Management and Atropine Program.
 
Dr. Hung’s areas of expertise include primary eye care for both Pediatric and Adults, contact lens exams, and myopia control.
 
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dr. Hung enjoys spending time with his wife and toddler son. You might spot them at the CuriOdyssey Children’s Museum in Burlingame, a favorite family destination.
 
Dr. Hung is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
